Glitter Dice Plays: A Cool and Lonely Courage

In this episode of Glitter Dice Plays, the Glitter Dice crew portray the brave women of the SOE, a British special operations division during WWII, as they play Alex White's narrative storygame A Cool and Lonely Courage. While there is no overt violence depicted during the course of this game, the horrors of WWII are frankly discussed and the threat of violence toward the women of the SOE, as well as other characters close to them, including lovers and children, does occur. A Cool and Lonely Courage is a serious game that deals with serious subject matter, and listeners should prepare themselves accordingly.

Episode Thirty-One - On Brand

In this episode your hosts talk about "their brand" when it comes to gaming. In "What Are You Playing?" Linda updates us on Gardens of Destiny, Joie talks fairy tale blockbuster larp Real Royalty, Kelly and Joie cover the Atlanta run of cyberpunk larp Project Ascension, and discuss Kelly's obsession with dating sim Monster Prom. In our "Off Topic," see how well we did with our predictions for the last season of Game of Thrones.

Episode Thirty - Period Police

The return of the drinking episode! Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (on April 1st) and have a few rounds with your Glitter Dice hosts as they discuss whether historical accuracy or immersion matter in larp. In “What Are You Playing?” the crew gives their review of the most recent After the End larp, and one-shot high-concept larp 13 Heavenly Blades. Our “Off-Topic” is the return of James Gunn to the MCU.

Episode Twenty-Nine - DM Your DM

In this episode the Glitter Dice crew takes some time to discuss how social media and technology like Discord and Twitch have changed the face of gaming. In "What Are You Playing?" Linda and Kelly update you on Pokemon Go and Garden of Destinies larp, and Joie introduces you to two-player, letter-writing game Dear Ghost. Our "Off Topic" is Disney World, where two of your hosts recently went on vacation.

Episode Twenty-Seven - Intellectual Hypothetical

In our first episode of 2019, we discuss pie-in-the sky properties we'd love to see turned into tabletop roleplaying games and Kelly tells us all about PAX Unplugged 2018. In "What Are You Playing"? we get updated on the newest additions to Pokemon Go and WoW's Darkshore Invasion, as well as mobile game I Love Hue, Linda's D&D campaign, Joie and Kelly's Amber Diceless actual play campaign, and gothic horror storygame Bluebeard's Bride. Our "Off Topic" for this month is baking, and how it's similar, but not quite the same as, cooking.

Episode Twenty-Six - Out of Control

In our final episode of 2018 we talk experimental larp styles and mechanics. In "What Are You Playing?" Linda tells us about Hidden Folk, Kelly discusses her Battle for Azeroth and Undertale progress, and both update us on sci-fi western larp After the End. A very special episode recorded as we livestreamed on Twitch to kick of 24 hours of gaming for Extra Life. Our main topic, DLC, microtransactions and pay-to-play, generated a lot of discussion. Episode Twenty-Four - The Bog of Eternal Stench

We tackle the prickly subject of bad sportsmanship while discussing bullying, harassment and toxicity in gaming environments, reflect on some instances when we've been the bullies, and develop strategies on how to be better players.
